I am using a Macintosh Computer and I cannot find the Photoshop Elements demo?
Sadly since we manufactured the CD the demo has been removed from the internet link on the disc. Instead you can download a copy of the 30-day tryout by clicking here. Once you have downloaded the file follow these steps:
1) Locate the file that has downloaded to your computer. You can do this by clicking the loupe icon to the right of the download progress chart in Safari's Downlodads window.
2) When you click the loupe, a Finder window will appear with the downloaded .ZIP file highlighted. Double click on it and wait for the file to unzip. ("Zip" files are compressed files which are smaller, so ideal for sending over the internet, but need to be unzipped before they can be used.)
3) An unzipped file called Adobe Photoshop Elements.pkg will appear in the same Finder window. Double click on it and follow the on-screen instructions to install the demo.
I am using Windows Vista and I have installed the demo but it does not seem to work properly. Have I done something wrong?
Sadly the 30-day tryout of Photoshop Elements 5 that is included on the CD only works on Windows XP. If you buy the full version of Photoshop Elements, it is possible to download patch from Adobe here that will make it work properly on Windows Vista, but at the moment there is not a Vista-compatible demo.
Instead you can use an alternative program which can also open the layered .PSD (Photoshop) files that form the templates on the disc.
I am using Windows and I have placed the disc in my computer but nothing seems to happen. What should I do?
When you put some CDs into your computer they automatically jump into action, whether you want them to or not. The Cards and Calendars disc, however, does not do this because that can be quite annoying. Instead you need to open it using your computer's "My Computer" menu.
Alternatively, if you already have Photoshop Elements (or the program of your choice) installed, by simply placing the CD in the drive and then proceeding to File > Open menu option. From there you will be able ot locate the files in the
I am using Windows XP and, when I try to install the Photoshop Elements demo, it asks me for a serial number but I do not have one. What should I do?
You do not need a serial number. When Photoshop Elements asks for a serial number simply choose the 30-day tryout option listed beneath it.
